Tony Banewicz

Tony, of Hagaman, NY, holds an A.S. in Performing Arts: Music from Schenectady County Community College. Founder of Tony's Polka Band in 1996, he built a small family band into an award-winning performing group. He composes and arranges the music heard on stage and has led them to the Grammy Award semi-finals four times. Also an accomplished pianist and organist, Tony frequently performs as a soloist for area events. He is a member of the United States Polka Association, the International Polka Association, and a voting member of NARAS.

Mike Banewicz

Mike holds degrees in Performance, Music Education, and Music Business from Schenectady County Community College, the Crane School of Music, and Ithaca College. He is an original members of Tony's Polka Band since 1996. When not on the road with TPB, Mike is busy as a public school band director and free-lance trumpeter in New York's Capital Region. 

Cheryl Matott Humphreys

Cheryl, of Albany, NY holds an A.S. in Performing Arts: Music from Schenectady County Community College and a B.S. in Music Education from St. Rose College. Cheryl started playing clarinet at age 9 and pursued it as a career through high school and college. Cheryl performs with professional ensembles throughout the Albany area including the noted Schenectady Symphony Orchestra and the Capital Region Wind Ensemble. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys fencing and spending time with her husband, Stephen and daughters Cadence and Clover.  She has been a member of Tony’s Polka Band since 2002. 

Mike “Spike” Krywulych

Mike "Spike" Krywulych, a native of Amsterdam, NY, was exposed to music from a very young age through his father "Big Wally," a popular New York State entertainer . He began learning the piano at the age of 4, trombone at age 11, and bass at age 13.  Mike has played the bass in Tony's Polka Band since 1998.

Elaina Dybas

Originally from New York’s Southern Tier, Elaina holds a B.M. in Music Education from the Crane School of Music.  While living in Hagaman during student teaching, she met Tony’s Polka Band just as the band was looking for a new saxophonist.  In 2012, she joined Tony’s Polka Band full-time.

Brandon Malowski

Brandon, a native of the Mohawk Valley, holds a A.A.S. in Music from Onondaga Community College, a B.M. in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia, and is pursing a M.S. in Instructional Technology from the University of Nebraska in Kearney.  Brandon joined Tony's Polka Band in 2013.  In his spare time, he can be found writing and recording music as well as gigging with pop-punk and classic rock pickup groups around the Mohawk Valley.  He works along side Mike as a K-12 vocal and general music instructor.
